My husband and I are planning a trip for our Christmas present to each other and don't want to spend an huge amount of money, but we want to have a good time. We have no children and may possibly take another couple along - I need suggestions for somewhere fun that doesn't cost a lot of money!

Your best bet is probably take a road trip. Hopefully, you have a reliable car. You can drive anywhere! Just make sure you have enough for gas, tolls, food, motel, etc. It might be a good idea to take a credit card that has no or a low balance, in case you run into an emergency- such as an unexpected car repair.

If you really want to keep costs down, just take day trips. Pick a direction and just drive & explore. You can come across things that you never knew even existed practically in your own backyard.

I don't know what kind of money you are looking to spend, but look into some all inclusive trip, such as a cruise (although these are not usually cheap). The good thing is that meals and enetertainment are not an extra expense.

1. Think about how often you go shopping. Then cut that number down by about half. 2. When you grocery shop, avoid getting sugary things that you don't need (like pop-tarts, kool-aid, cookies) 3. Try cutting down on how much you cook (instead of cooking a feast, cook just enough to get full) 4. Save any leftovers and eat them the next day until you run out of that food. 5. Sorry, but don't go to the movies. 6. You might have to cut cellphone lines. 7. When you're done using an electric thing, turn it off after you're done (like say you're watching tv, turn it off sooner rather than later.) 8. I know winter is cold, but if you use the heater a lot then the gas bill is going to be super high. Instead, bundle up in coats. 9. Get the whole family aware and involved.

Well now, there was the couple this past summer who were going to ride their riding mower from someplace in Indiana to Louisiana....i figure thats about as cheap as you can get.

There are some beautiful places in Kentucky and Tennessee to visit...and you aren't that far from Florida, drive south, find a cheap motel and enjoy the scenery.
