Algorithm's though usually used in reference to mathematics by definition is the step by step procedures used to solve a problem. So you could infer from that, that humans have been using algorithm's for a long long time. So who was first is impossible to know, just as what his nationality is. The word itself is derived from old Latin and French meaning to solve.
