I'm an American with a degree in French (and Italian), and I love French culture so deeply and intensely that people often accuse me of being French--I'm kind of like Thomas Jefferson in that regard. I read French, talk French, and think French. But sometimes I just can't help mocking the French people: Jesus, where did they ever get the idea that Jerry Lewis was a comedic genius? And have you ever heard a Frenchman say, regarding an unusual grammatical construction, "Ça n'existe pas!"?--Just blotting it out of the universe--Well, they're funny. They also have the greatest culture, the finest food and wine, the most wonderful literature in the world--And they are, with the possible exception of Italians, the most fun to talk to. I'd be proud as hell, if I were you, to be part French.

Always remember that you are unique, like EVERYBODY else. Of course you may be proud but maybe not. No matter are you French or any other nationality. If you will ask me, being French you maybe proud for loooot of things, but you can NOT be proud for current policy of your government on international area. I think that France dissapointing today many countries, specially in Eastern Europe, not enough supporting democracy and freedom and playing very dirty game with Putin. I have some friends in France. I love them very much. I love your wonderful country, your culture, They are wonderful!!! But I have also some other expirinece with France....for what you CAN NOT be proud. Anyway, I think that English people, like Americans, or Spanish or others have contributed in the world history not less then French people. So is it. Conclusion is that, no matter are you proud or not being French, important is what is opinion of society about your personality in particular. If you think different, it is simply funny for me. But you have right, of course, think different. I'll appreciate any of your opinion about this matter.

well I think everyone should be proud of where they come from. Now if you are arrogant then that is something else. One thing is being proud but be humble about it. I am Mexican and we are all very proud to come from that country.
