Try cleaning your system cache. Control panel > internet options > delete cookies, temporary files (including offline content), clear history. Do a disk cleanup by clicking start > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk cleanup. Check mark everything and run. If these steps, and what you're already doing don't help, you might want to contact your ISP to find out if they are the problem. Yahoo is still trying to work out the bugs with their home page, beta mail, photomail, and now IE7. Customers suffer with slow downs, crashes, "this page not found" error messages, etc.

2-3 time a week I have to unplug the modem for 5-10 seconds, then everything picks right back up. The modem sits beside my monitor, and is the interface between the cable at the wall and the hard drive. The modem has three lines connected to the back. One leads to the cable/wall. You may want to check that it is properly connected, otherwise, leave it alone. The middle line goes to the USB port. Again, leave this line alone. The top line is a skinny black line that reads 9vdc 800mA and goes to the power adapter. Unplug this line for a few seconds, then reconnect it. The lights on front of the modem will start flashing and it may take up to a full minute (I have never timed it) for everything to recycle.

An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz

One thing that has not been mentioned for instance I live in a neighborhood where most people are using satellite and not cable thankfully. But that can slow it down, the more people you have in a neighborhood or even near by that are using broadband can slow some performance down. I also use IE-7 at work, but I have not had any problems with IE-7 causing the machine to slow down.

Maybe your ISP shaped your connection.

it may be a problem with your isp, give them a ring and check to see if they have any problems on their lines.
