The way it is written, i will give it a 4. My humble assessment is that it is sloppily written. With all due respect, the author fails to give justice to the characters of the story. What happens is a slapdash characterization of the characters, instead of taking time to flesh out the person. Take for example the character of Sophie, she is struck between Langdon and Teabing, dutifully mouthing the equivalent of "what is that". Researchwise, i will give it a rating of 8 because of the new ideas introduced.

This book was horrible. I give it a 1. The issues pushed in it were ridiculous. Brown says that the reason man is dredged in war is because we have lost our mother goddess. Uh, weren't the pagan Greeks just as warlike? Also, the dialogue was just corny. However after I finished reading it, I thought it would make a good mystery movie. I will say that it could have been a good story in the hands of a good writer.

Book or movie? Book was about a 6 and never saw the movie. The whole idea was about shocking Christians' beliefs and if you have done any independent research on the history if christianity, none of it would have been a shock and the book/movie would not have gotten such acclaim.

I'd give it a 6 or a 7. I read Angels and Demons first, and liked it much more than DVC. In fact, I think that it would have made a much better that DVC.
