Well there are alot of websites that have a collective of artists for example http://www.creationcollective.com wher people can browse artists. Having an individual website is okay if people know about it so posters with an illustration and the web address could help. Also check local cafe's as many of these offer wall space to artists wishing to sell and display their work.

Hi

I agree with other answerers, ebay is a great idea.

But you'll probably also need to get her artwork seen other places, as on ebay, people might just come across it rather than search specifically.

I would suggest a quick tour of local businesses, the type where there are lots of customers coming and going - depending on the style of artwork, try dentist and doctors surgeries, estate agents, hairdressers, pubs etc. Offer to give them some artwork on loan to brighten up their walls, in exchange for them allowing her to leave some business cards around, or to display her contact details in the corner of the frame etc.

Cheap but effective.

Good luck!

The British Arts Council sponsors tours of artists' work (6 week shows at 6 galleries in a row around the country), she might want to apply to be considered for that.

My mum is an artist too :-) (www.annsmithart.co.uk)
My mum rents space at a local craft and gallery place, but I don't know how much this costs.
Ebay is a good idea, your mums paintings are cool too and would have wide appeal I imagine. Another idea is making up cards and notelets with prints of her best pieces. My mum makes packs of like 5 notelets and envelopes with her pictures on, and sells them (her details on the back).

Restaurants, tea houses, libraries and the like. You often find that they will, for a small commission, display your Mum's work and even sell it to customers for her, if that's what she wants. I've seen some super art work/ photography/ sculptures in tea houses.
