can powered motherboards with processor and ram be linked to a computer via lan etc for network,clustering ?

if i want to network or cluster computers to improve the processing capacity of a computer to handle video . can a cluster handle 64 bit processing

Depends on the operating system. If you use x64 chips and Linux you could do that easily.
