Could somebody Please explain to me the term *pole onion*

or even post a link where I can find out about it

it refers to the general consensus or opinion contained within a pole or questionnaire.

Errr.. it's "poll opinion". It's the opinion of the majority of the general public, assumed from the results of a survey (a poll).

For instance, a poll may ask 1,000 people of voting age a question like "Do you think the NHS is better than it was 5 years ago?". The results of that survey would reveal whether the majority of the people asked said yes or no, and this is assumed to be the overall opinion of the majority of the general public.

A "Pole Onion" is an onion grown in Poland.
