If you believe that the government should take care of your every need, then you are a liberal.
I you believe you can take care of yourself if the government just stays out of your pocket, then you are conservative.

The quiz posted on here by scorbore seems to be accurate. I'm a slightly right-leaning centrist.
Basically, here is where MOST liberal or conservative beliefs line up:
Conservatives:
Anti Affirmative Action
Anti same-sex marriage
Anti government hand-OUTS
Anti gun control
Anti abortion
Pro military and defense spending
Pro tax cuts
Pro capitalism
Liberals are mostly:
pro Affirmative Action
pro same-sex marriage
pro welfare (and generally don't believe it needs revamped)
pro gun control (extremists believe that no one should have a gun except law enforcement, but they are few and far between)
pro-choice
anti defense and military spending (I say this based on liberals' voting records)
believe the tax system needs revamped, but tend not to favor tax cuts
Beliefs tend to somewhat mirror communism (This is NOT an insult, it's simply the truth. Communism looks good on paper, everyone sharing, it's a utopian dream!)
I fall somewhere in between those.

If you favor taking peoples rights away, living under the rule of the christian bible, that the people who were forced to move out of New Orleans due to Katrina are better off and that abortion is wrong but the death penalty is fair....then your a conservative. If you believe that people should have more freedoms and less goverment in their lives, that every child NEEDS to be educated to better themselves and compete on the world stage, That women don't wake up one day and say I think I'll go have an abortion cuz its sooooo much fun, If you think our leaders should lead with thoughful insight and consideration of their actions....then your a liberal.

Thats an interesting little quiz by the way, Im not sure I could have scored farther left on it!
Well I mean you have to ask yourself are you able to put your personal and religious feelings aside and agree that what you believe personally isnt always best for everyone? If you can do that and be ok with that and accepting of others even though you dont agree because they have a constitutional right to something you are a liberal.
For example I believe that life begins at conception yet I am still pro choice because not everyone believes that way and I realize it. I am not gay and gay marriage is against my religious beliefs but I still support it because religion has no part in government and the government should not tell two consenting adults they can not be married.

w00t. According to this weird american quiz I am a liberal! Hmm, odd. I have always considered myself to be on the centre-right of politics in my home country.

Take an IQ test. If your result is over 100, then at least you aren't a hard-line conservative.
The test backs up my own self identity: I am apparently a Libertarian.

Simply put; Republicans are right....
Democrats(liberals, sometimes referred to as immoral, corrupt and everything thats wrong with America) are wrong.
