Personal qualities required for working in the Service industry (Airlines, Hotels, BPOs etc) are sooooooo important that if one does NOT have it, or is found lacking in them, then one may lose the job!!
After all, the client (or passenger) is paying money, and wants to be treated 'special'! The person wants to be pampered, and given extra-special caring, for the money he/she has spent on that service. Hence qualities like SMILE!!!, being courteous, gentle and considerate, going out of the way to do some act of service, etc becomes VERY important....... so important, that if one falls short, the job itself may be lost!
