The American Constitution states that all Americans are born equal and have an equal right to the pursuit of happiness, if this is so why did white America then proceed on the genocide of the native American community, put in place an apartheid system that discriminated against black America after the civil war which was still in place up until the 70s and lets face it still is, has purpetrated war crimes such as My Lai, Hiroshima, Nagasaki. America claims time and again that it is a moral leader in the world today, is this really credible?

Yeah OK but the constitution is an evolving document. Remember we outlawed slavery and then about 100 years later passed the civil rights act like we were serious about racial equality. Women can vote now too. And it's been a very long time since Nagasaki. We are now sort of paying reparations to the Native Americans by going to their casinos and losing money to them.
We're not Sweden, but we're better than the Sudan.
I just we could all commit to a national effort to be more on the Sweden side of things. I have a feeling that more and more we are leaning Sudanish.

A. Every society has a culture which inseminates a morality into the law. The US is unique in that our founders despised governmental tyranny in any form. They created a Constitution with checks and balances and rights and freedoms which could keep any tyrant from controlling the people. That these rights and freedoms and checks and balances came with the Judeo-Christian ethic made us one of a kind. B. All of them. One of the biggest contributors to the decline of America's prosperity has been the attack of a common morality by the left. It has taken great resources away from the people and distracted our leaders from what they are there to do. C. I think liberal philosophy finding it's way into the classrooms of America has done this. Competition is bad for self esteem and all the energy is used on the bottom of the ladder, thereby rewarding dependency and punishing excellence. D. I do not see anything good if we continue on this path.

I think this is not credible at all. When the former President Clinton was in power I thought Yeah, white America is moving towards understanding all the other cultures that are American but everything went down hill when the present president came into power and respect for everyone was lost.

White America is selfish in that some or all of them can proudly say " I have English, French,Spanish or German roots" and in most cases they still have citizenship to those countries.

What about the Native Americans, the only home they know is America and they have watched it being destroyed by selfish people. What about the black brothers and sisters, it is also the only home they know since at this point most of them are forth generations that are being born into that country.( let's face it, if an African American Person came to live in South Africa they will be totally lost) They have lost all there is to be African.

Didn't know anyone ever called America the moral leader. Different cultures have different morals, at different periods.

Take a world power, any power, at any period that it was one of the world great powers, and see if they were so morally superior.

Lots to choose from, Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, England, France, GERMANY a couple of times, Japan.

Even little quiet non-power Switzerland has some pretty dirty recent past with the Nazi's, as does the Vatican. Even looking deeply into ourselves or our familys' past can be interesting.

As an Ameican, I love history. It repeatedly proves that America has rarely been a moral leader, with immoral decisions outnumbering moral ones by the thousands. Any survey of American history will prove this.

I think you've answered your own question. You also want to bear in mind that when citing the constitution, it doesn't exist anymore, neither does the Bill Of Rights...the Gestapo/Fascist Patriot Act put paid to that one.

America is the biggest terrorist and human rights violator on the planet, always was, always will be, until the American poeple themselves wake up and do something about it. Just the atrocities the Bush administration alone have perpetrated make Hitler look tame, okay?

Nice mention of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, by the way. I think it is disgusting that the American government bitches about North Korea and Iran's nuclear potential when AMERICA is the only country to ever use them on anybody!!!!!

If you read your history the answers to your questions are simple........The American Indians= at first, we had guns and they did not. The Freed slaves= were legally less worth than a white man, hence discrimination and as far as today goes.....it works both ways!!! The bombs dropped by Truman (Democrat) and the US was seen, at the time, as saving millions of American and Japanese lives, seeing as it avoided a full-on invasion of Japan (the Japanese were known to fight to the death and were training their women and children to do the same).
What other country has done more for world peace?
What other has paid more (with their lives and wallets) than the
United States of America?
Where do most people in the world want to come for the pursuit of happiness?? AMERICA=love it or leave it buddy! (and if you are not American, stay home)

Once you start doing immoral things to protect your wealth and your own freedoms, then you lose the moral high ground. America did that a long time ago. While it is true Russia and China have killed millions, so has the US in all its wars and proxy wars. Imagine a father who goes out and kills some children, rapes a few women, and steals somebody's jewelry and then says he had to do it to protect his family. Does it make it right?

It's a case of the deluded leading the deluded. The US has never had moral highground as it's an expansionist state it does however have the weapons and the will to use them if you don't follow their "morals"

The US is the worlds largest slum, rats have more morals. To be fair in recent times France (I hate to say) has shown the way and is unmoved by external political pressure.

Some times good people do bad things.
Some times bad people do good things.
The lust for money, power, and position, is the leading cause of death, beyond disease or any natural occurrence.

Americans take the moral high ground when ever it suits a purpose. Cause you know it's all about "ME" in this culture.
