socio or socio-cultural or just cultural anthropology is playing an increasingly bigger role in medical profession. As it gets more and more competitive to get into these fields the acceptance board members are looking for a different edge and though process in the applicants. Anthropology, it seems, is a good fit. In cultural anth you lean about people, how they think, why they do what they do, what makes them tick, different cultural norms and an overall respect for cultural differences. This sort of skill manifests itself well in the medical Fields. Also a background in anthropology demonstrates an ability to think for yourself, to synthesize information not just regurgitate it. So study some anthropology, we need more culturally understanding think for yourself type people in this world

Nursing is bio-medicine. Do not take the less rigorous path offered by social science. I am sure you can always find more biology, chemistry and math courses to take.
