Hello from Orange.

As your contract is due for renewal, to begin, try to avoid being forced into an 18 Month plan.

The handsets.

The Samsung SGH-E900 device, is all looks, when it comes to what it can do, it falls flat on its face - the touch pad is too sensitive (much like the LG KG800 'Chocolate'). The camera is nowhere near its advertised '2MP' quality. The Trans-Flash expansion card is only limited to 1GB (which you must buy separately). So, as you have guessed, its not really a contender.

Next, the SGH-D900 Device. The 'Ultra Series', it is 12.9mm thick, with a '3MP' Camera. Granted, it is slim and Samsung have been able to stuff alot into the slim yet wide and ugly shell. The Camera is a shambles, although it may look good on the screen, it produces noise like a rock concert in the photos. The video quality is mediocre, not to forget the poor battery life. Also, it suffers the same fate as the SGH-E900, the Trans-Flash card is limited to 1GB, and you must buy it separately.

So, the Samsung devices have a collective lot of problems - another point is that they provide an excuse for headphones in the box - which you cannot upgrade.

Finally the Sony Ericsson W850i 'Walkman'. To begin, it is a nnewer handset, and is a lot more featured than the Samsung's. It carries the legendary 'Walkman' brand with a music player to live up to the name. It has a 2MP camera that is actually 2MP and performs more like a 3MP camera. The Sony Ericsson W850i 'Walkman' is a 3G enabled device, neither Samsungs feature this, this enables the Sony Ericsson W850i 'Walkman' to store and playback DVD quality films on its large screen. It features 'Track ID' - ever hear a song while your out, but don't know what it is? use your W850i's Track ID feature to tag that song! The 3G feature ensures broadband speeds for your phone, the ability to use it in Japan and Sotuh Korea where 2G phones are of no use any longer. Where the Samsungs require you to buy a separate Memory card, the 850i comes with a 1GB memory stick pro Duo (RRP £50) in the Box, not to forget the HPM - 70 Walkman Headphones (RRP £30) and a DCU-60 data cable (RRP £20).

The features of the 850i are endless, and by far slay the Samsungs in terms of quality, ease of use, looks and features.

So, which is the better phone? I'm sure the above will help you decide that the Sony Ericsson cannot be beaten in any aspect, it truly is 'The Soundtrack to your life'.

Best of luck deciding, any questions your welcome to ask again!
