Crime show ladies?

Why are there now a few Crime Show lady stars who seem to have white pasty faces and red lips that seem to run at the edges?Is this meant to be attractive or should we all look like this? The world is going REEEEALLLY strange!!!

They are all starting to look alike. And what's bad, so are the men. Look at the cast of Without a Trace and the cast of Cold Case; they could be clones. Someone should tell casting directors that just like we want original scripts and ideas in what we watch, we don't want to see Barbie and Ken on every show.
