for overnight drying out, I use white paste toothpaste like crest or coalgate... just dab a bit on and it seems to dry out the pimple overnight...
for long term huge mothers of a zit.. I use 100% tea tree oil I bought in a little jar from my local GNC.. it also gets rid of warts and moles too.. its amazing stuff.

To help prevent the oil buildup that can contribute to acne, wash your face twice a day with a mild soap and warm water. Don't scrub your face hard with a washcloth — acne can't be scrubbed away, and scrubbing may actually make it worse by irritating the skin and pores. Try cleansing your face as gently as you can.
If you wear makeup or sunscreen, make sure it's labeled "oil free," "noncomedogenic," or "nonacnegenic." This means it won't clog your pores and contribute to acne. And when you are washing your face, be sure you take the time to remove all of your makeup so it doesn't clog your pores.
If you use hair sprays or gels, try to keep them away from your face, as they can also clog pores. If you have long hair that touches your face, be sure to wash it frequently enough to keep oil away. And if you have an after-school job that puts you in contact with oil — like in a fast-food restaurant or gas station, for example — be sure to wash your face well when you get home. It can also help to wash your face after you've been exercising.
Many over-the-counter lotions and creams containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide are available to help prevent acne and clear it up at the same time. You can experiment with these to see which helps. Be sure to follow the instructions exactly — don't use more than you're supposed to at one time (your skin may get too dried out and feel and look worse) and follow any directions to see if you're allergic to it first.

Don't touch the pimple... just leave it alone. I usually use those alcohol swabs, I'm not sure where you get them, my dad gets a heap from the hospital because he's a doctor.
You know when you get injected with a needle, and your injector will wipe over it with a little bit of material that stings? It's like an alcoholic swab, or a cleaning swab or something.
Anyway, try rubbing those over the pimples. And just wash the skin well with soap when you take a shower, etc.

DO NOT pick at them, it just makes the problem worse by spreading the infection. Tea tree oil or lavender oil are the best for calming blackheads and acne, witch hazel is good also but different sensitivity skin reacts in different ways to it as it is quite abrasive and acidic and drys out your skin quickly. Blackhead cleansing concealers are also a great way of both hiding and targeting spots. Also drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg and you really will notice a difference

You could apply 100% Tea Tree Oil on the area to dry them. Also, use Mary Kay Timewise moisturizer and night solution for combination to oily skin and you will be surprised. I am not sure what they use in these products, but they prevent further acne.

if you really want to get rid of that nasty zit quick, try roaccutane. it's really strong and should only be used for major cases of acne, but if you get a milder pill, it is very effective, and you are guaranteed a pimple free face in less than 10 days. you are not allowed to use it when you are pregnant.

The best way for the occasional pimple would be white toothpaste. Just leave it over-night.

Use glycolic acid with salicylic acid. This will dry out your pimples and balance your skin as well.
