You can file the divorce in the county or city that you are a legal resident of. You don't have to file in the city or state you were married in----You will need a copy of your marriage certificate ---your attorney might ask for that----
I wouldn't recommend filing a divorce PRO SE-----(do it yourselfers get themselves in big legal trouble) Get yourself a competent Family Law Attorney to do the dirty work for you and then sit back and just appear in court when they tell you too!
