I read the same thing on many credible sites.
Any chance that it might affect it I wouldn't do it!
I am also TTC and we do not have any form of oral sex while I am fertile. Why take the risk? It is only about 5 days of not being able to have oral it isn't the end of the world.
Snip from a web site listed below:
"We know that saliva can kill sperms, so you may want to make sure you have less saliva in the vagina when you TTC. "
I don't think though that this is the reason you are not getting pregnant. It would be minimal if anything. have you tried an ovulation prediction kit to find out when you ovulate ? If you are finding it difficult to become pregnant could be that you ovulate early or later in your cycle. The ovulation prediction kit would show you to within 48 hours of when you ovulate.
There are many other free methods to help predict ovulation like checking your Basal Temperature, checking your Cervical Mucus etc.
I have added a few links that also say that Oral sex shouldn't be done while TTC.
I have also added a link that has a lot of info on free methods to check for ovulation.
Hope this helps!! from one TTC to another!!

I have heard from a website (sorry I dont remember which one) that when your partner performs oral sex on you before intercourse the bacteria from his mouth, and vice versa can harm the sperm. So since my hubby and I are ttc, although I dont want to say no, I do when i am ovulating. I work in a medical laboratory and knowing what I know about bacteria and the vagina, this is absolutely plausable.

No, the effect of oral sex on getting pregnant is 'approx 2 minutes'

The only possible side effect of oral sex would be the reduction in sperm count due to your husband shooting his load in a place that won't have any possible chance of producing a child

enjoy oral sex but just dont do it at the same time that you are TTC. saliva can affect sperms motility.

The only way I can think that it can affect you getting pregnant is that it feels so good your husband doesn't want to have sex, just oral sex.

Yes. Saliva can "hurt" the sperm. Also, try not to orgasm during sex when trying to conceive. I know this sucks for you, but it has been known to help.
