Why not!? If you over protect your child, they become wimpy and self-indulged! Shoot, I bring my kids any place (within common sense boundries!) If your baby is uncomfortable and visibly uneasy with the fireworks, then you could readjust your decision! I teach pre-school and it blows my mind at how some parents over indulge/protect their children...I played a disney movie one rainy afternoon when we were stuck inside and they were insensed due to the violent/frightening material. EEESH it was The Little Mermaid! Introduce your child to life man! (and love the heck out 'em!!)

Depends how your Little un reacts to load noises, I'm sure the lights would fascinate her but the big bangs can be a little frightening, I can remember i took both my sons to firework displays at a very early age and they loved it, their faces lit up when they saw the bright lights, my oldest is 21 now with 2 kids of his own and we all went to a display last year and my grandchildren had a great time. Even if your baby is a little scared the fact you and mum are there will reassure her and she will learn that a loud noise isn't necessarily something to be scared of. I would say go for it and have a great family night out.

We took our baby (then 7 mo as well) to a professionally organised fireworks display last year and she absolutely loved it! She was completely mesmirised by the bright colours and noises. She wasn't frightened in the least. The display was at 6pm, so she was home in time for her routine bedtime at 7pm, so her routine wasn't upset at all. It was a really fun time out.
I would say that only you and your partner can make the same judgement call based on your knowledge of your baby's personality. If you do decide to take her and she gets distressed then just take her home straight away.

Listen to the missus. The baby is far to young. Firstly the noise will upset her, secondly it is too late at night for the baby to be out.
Thridly, you will have a better time knowing that the baby is safe at home make it a night out for you both

Hi There, I would take her. I took my son when he was 3 months old and again a year later. He slept through the first one and the second he fell asleep during the display. It was only last year he wasn't to keen. All we did was walk him home. He loved looking out of the upstairs windows at the lights.

Would be better not to, not just the fact they might be terrified, not just by the noise but also the ground vibration...the level of sound could also be damaging....a few in the back garden from inside the house would be a safer bet...or get a baby sitter....better safe than sorry. The memories might fade at that age but ear damage won't !!

It will be noisy and cold, what do you think? Can you not let her look out the window at all the fireworks? there will be enough around. Maybe buy some that aren't too noisy and do it yourself, that's what we are doing with my 3 year old.

If you wrap her up warm and get a hat that will cover her ears or ear muffs to block out some of the loud bangs, then I cant see what the problem is...
I'm taking my 10 month old boy to see the fireworks.
Hope you have a wonderful time.....
