I saw a film years ago about a guy who's on trial for murder, he's a nervous wreck, stutters loads and seems to be a bit slow, he appears unable to do anything, the lawyer gets him off the charge but in fact he did do it and is really evil and clever. can anyone help????

The film is Primal Fear, one of the finest pieces of acting by the great Edward Norton. Richard Gear also stars as the lawyer.

If it is the one I am thinking of, it is Primal Fear with Richard Gere (what a cutie) playing the lawyer. Edward Norton (what a cutie) plays an alter boy who kills a cardinal because he had been molesting him and others. But he acts like he has MPD (multiple personality disorder) and so his lawyer gets him off. But in the end you find that he really did it. Great flick.

I think it sounds a bit like Usual Suspects. Kevin Spacey is the guy in that thats up for murder and he comes across as slow (and has a dodgy foot) but it turns out he did it.
If this isnt the film, i have not a clue!
