I don't get what's so interesting about that gameshow, Deal or No Deal. So the contestants get to choose boxes to open, some of them have more money than others, and a couple are red herrings.

What's the skill in that?

Agreed. No skill required at all. I am surprised that this show lasted longer than the piolet episode ;). Tghe attempt at drumming up suspense falls completly flat, and in all honesty I feel embarrased for the contestants at having to deal with the presenter. He does my head in.

I don't think that you've been watching the show very closely, yes it's a game of luck and the banker tries to buy the box from the contestant at the lowest possible amount, and the player then has to decide whether to accept the offer,DEAL OR NO DEAL, and try to work out the odds of getting a bigger offer or having a large amount of money in their box. Watch the show for a week and see what you think then. It is alright to watch at that time of day.

A Spanish version has been running for a few years called Alla Tu slightly different format, 3 of the worse prizes are things like an onion, an umbrella, or a paper clip quite amusing when they win one of those, and contestants answer a question first before being eligible to be picked to play so slightly more interesting.
But best of all no Noel I love myself so much Edmonds he was the main reason I stopped watching in the UK. But it is quite fun to watch and imagine yourself in the same situation, what choice would you make between a definite £2000 and possibly £12000 or 10p

Firstly, there are NOT two red herrings - where did you get that one from?
Secondly, it's a game of sheer chance the way the boxes are played, and the fun for the viewer is to watch all the "clever" and greedy ones get that little bit TOO clever and greedy and shite their own nests at the last knockings and end up with a fiver out of what MIGHT have been £250,000. Oh how we all laugh ! ! !

its pure luck. although some people do end up with much less money because they got greedy and gambled a round or two too far. i was in the audience for telly addicts about 20 years ago, filmed at pebble mill in birmingham. i have to say that between takes noel edmonds was extremely rude to the production staff and i thought he was a complete tosser.
