I think you're trying to tell us that someone or something very precious was lost to you, not purposely but through inattention.
Thanks for the heads up. It's a wise lesson.

No, I don't think I can relate. However, I do feel older (at the whopping age of 35) and I miss some of things that were fun about being younger. Would I go back again - no way. I don't know your situation but I can make a suggestion for what it's worth. You may not be able to change people and/or your situation right now, but you can change how you react to it. Look at what you have to be thankful for in your life. If you need help to find those things, simply go down to a homeless shelter, a veteran's hospital, an orphanage or a burn center and put in a little volunteer time. That will truly put life into perspective. From there, look forward and not back.

Looking back it's more like some bizarre dream or nightmare. I still don't hear much from my kids.I guess being alone can have it's good points as well. I am free to go out when I want on my own time. I can choose which movie to see and which restaurant. I don't have someone nagging me about what I cooked to eat etc. Being alone really isn't that bad. If only I would have learned how to do it before I had been married the first time.I really didn't have so much to lose as in material things. What I do have is medical bills. But not as bad as others do though. Sometimes less is more.

I had a life once, lost it thru the "work at will law" in our state. That law says employers can let you go for no reason. What it causes is chronic temp work and you can't pull your life together from it, it causes welfare, bankruptcy, loss of family support, broken marriage, etc.
