go to any rally cross meeting and you see evos and scoobies eaten and by the likes of rover metros, ford fucus and everything else out there. everyone seems to wonder round wearing their subaru jackets, to be honest i'd be embarest when you see them getting lapped on the track. off the track my tuned MG ZS 2.5 V6 not only looks sooooo much better but it leaves the afore mentioned escort look alikes for dead dispite beeing 2 wheel drive. my theory is that on play station games evos and scoobies are portrayed as good cars. anyone else realised?

If your MG ZS 2.5 V6 leaves an Impreza or an evo for dead then my name is Charlie Chaplin. A standard Impreza Turbo will eat your zs180 and an STI with a prodrive kit fitted will make it look like it's standing still. As for Evos, it's just plain silly to even conceive that your MG could out run one.
I went with a mate of mine to test drive an Impreze STI and it was a very very fast car. I've driven a ZS180 and it is no where near as fast.
I assume the Metros you are talking about are the 6r4 version which had a mid mounted 3.0 V6 engine which was a non turbo version of the negine fitted to the XJ220. Yes they are fast. I watched one blow an Escort Cosworth and a Delta integrale into the weeds at a rally once. TBH with any form of racing the ability of the driver is the biggest factor.
Why don't you actually drive one? then you might be in a position to comment.
It's also worth mentioning, there are quite a lot of 2.0 sport imprezas out there with turbo body kits on which might be why you have left one for dead.

Any fast car can be tuned and upgraded to be even faster.
The point is that the cars you mention are sold to the public in street legal guise and can easily blow off a Police car, unless it is itself highly tuned or has Helicopter support.
I personally don't like MG's cars, but do like their willingness to participate in the likes of Touring cars, which I much prefer to Rally.
I also remember when the Volvo T5 estate was blowing everything else on the road away so lets not get too caught up in the cars of the moment.

Anyways, you obviously haven't seen all of the tests and articles writen about the two cars in question (ha ha ha impretsers).
I know first hand that they are not overrated and I guarantee you that a properly set up STi or Evo will trounce you all day long. Oh and that Amanda that posted earlier would wipe the floor with you.

the car has built it self a big following.i,ve had one and as a track car and everyday runner about it was cool.compared to some of the other cars you mentioned maybe they are quicker but at least the scooby will keep going.plus a metro fast yes but its leyland plus your engine a k series not as strong as the scoobys as the rover has a bit of an old mans reputation but i would admit i like watching scoobys getting spanked.colin mcree who won a world championship in one helped the cars fame
