A Surrey flange fits to the top of the hot water tank allowing all the water to be taken to a shower without disturbance to the tank.

Make sure the supply from the storage tank can keep up with your pump otherwise the pump could empty the expansion pipe and suck air instead of hot water! Esp. if other hot taps are in use. Sometimes safer to put a tapping high on the side of the cylinder to prevent this.

You dont need to pump mains water it's already high pressure. You must only use a shower pump on balanced, cistern fed hot and cold feeds.

Surrey flange is a trademark name for a device for fitting on to a copper cylinder so that a take-off for a shower is possible.
You are not allowed to pump the public mains, as you would be interfering with the pressuire.in them.
