I don't think you have a hope. There is a maximum limit on housing benefit. Try to find out if there are any housing associations there - social housing is your only hope and then there will probably be a waiting list.

I live in West Sussex and know that it is very hard to get private rent properties for people on benefit, I work with DV victims and have tried many times to rehouse them.
Sometimes you can find ads in the local papers for that area where landlords are prepared to accept benefits but they are few and far between. Some Estate agents will accept, especially if the local council runs a rent deposit scheme.
The only thing I can suggest is that you contact the council in the area you wish to move to and ask them if they have such a scheme and if they know of landlords in the area that can help you.
There is also a Charity called Shelter who deal with housing problems and may also be able to help you.
Good luck

Try looking on rightmove.co.uk, and also buy a local paper, there may be private landlords that would be willing to take on DSS rather than go through an Estate agent.

right this is the way you look to maximum landlords: lazy - on advantages for over a 12 months; irresponsible - having a toddler once you're unemployed, curiously single, and can't help your self no much less a toddler; and why could I assist you with my no longer ordinary-earned tax money plus grant housing for somebody who sounds like hassle? the government is bloody nicely broke and has to decrease spending, so how long can taxpayers, like me, shop coughing up your hire money? situations are difficult sufficient as that is, and human beings such as you purely make it harder for every physique else, like me. so as that is their rant. What are you doing to get yet another pastime that can assist you & toddler? the place's the father & the youngster help? What are you able to do to make landlords comprehend you're a hardworking, in charge, sturdy person who will pay the hire on time, shop the youngster quiet and nicely cared for, recognize alternative tenants, & take sturdy care of human beings's belongings? Make your self a alluring tenant, with a sturdy pastime, sturdy references out of your contemporary LL, etc, and you will come across a effective little place for you and toddler at a clever marketplace hire. and you, toddler & landlord will stay greater or much less conveniently for destiny years. and no-it is easy to have any rants.
