The Great Red Spot, which is on a completely different scale to what we know on Earth (it's 3 times the size of our planet!), is an anticyclone (high pressure system) which has been there for at least 400 years. It rotates counter-clockwise every 6 days. It seems that large disturbances in Jupiter's atmosphere tend to last longer, depending on the latitude. Jupiter generates a lot of heat, this may be one of the reasons why these weather systems are so long lived.

I did slightly astronomy at college, yet no longer a lot so my answer would be incomplete. Jupiter is a great ball of gas. particular there's a center there, yet its large compressed gas (I dont comprehend no count number if that is seen a stable for the period of this state or certainly if different factors do sort an element stable center). As for gravitational pull, gravity is an unknown tension that is linked with mass. Jupiter is a "wanna be" sunlight, so its fantastically huge and has a first rate gravity nicely, unsure what number earth equivalents although.

it will stop, just not in our life time. you said it right, it is a storm, you just need to think of the different scale of earth/jupiter
