I very much sympathise with what your saying and i do agree with it but it has to be controlled vigorousley as anyone could kill anyone and say well they said they wanted to die, as for abortion it is a womens right to choose it is her that has to go through the pregnancy it it not murder as it is not a person at that stage of the confinement, but on the other hand if it wasnt wanted in the first place then precautions should have been taken there is no excuse these day for unwanted pregnancy

It depends on whether you consider a fetus to be a real child.

Personally, I don't think of fetuses as children, not until they're born. However, if I were ever pregnant and had to get an abortion, I would refuse to do so after the first trimester. In any case, I am strongly pro-choice and also pro-physician assisted suicide, the former because women ought to have autonomy over their own body and the latter because people ought to have a choice of dying in dignity if they feel the alternatives leave them lacking in that respect.

You are right and it makes no sense at all. We put pets to sleep when we know they are dying and we "pull the plug" on our family even though they are not technically dead while killing someone who helps someone out of their suffering is convicted of murder.
Now I could never do that ( i mean help someone like that) but I could see how some people would want helped.

murder is an intent to end a human life. A foetus is not considered to be human until 'it has been completed expelled from the womb'. (English law)

personally if a person is suffering why shouldn't they be allowed to leave there pain behind and have a chance to say good bye to the people they love.

i think that's a great question. i have heard that a fetus's heartbeat can be detected as early as 2 weeks. although i don't have a solid answer for you, i can only speculate that maybe it's because the fetus is still a part of it's mother, still considered "her", rather than it's own separate entity.

possibly, too, maybe it isn't given "rights to life" until it is able to survive on its own.

just a thought....
