So much misinformation here! Robtiger and others, it is NOT illegal for a person to pay for sex or a person to charge for sex. Some aspects of prostitution are illegal. You need to get your facts right.
I can't see that it is wrong if both parties are happy with the arrangement. That means no-one is under-age, and no-one is coerced in any way. Who is it harming then? No-one.
There could be any number of reasons why someone might pay for sex, and until you know an individual's reason, who are you to judge? and why do you care anyway?

Though I have never ever paid for sex, I did meet a beautiful young lady once who indulged in the same. I asked her what made her choose this profession. Her reply made a lot of sense to me. She was a computer engineer but was also a single mother. She explained what she earned in one night was more then what she earned in a whole month if she worked at an office. She further explained that she was still young and after a few years down the line, she would have more then enough money to lead a comfortable life with her child. She then told me she would move to another city where noone knew her and if possible find a nice guy to settle down with.
Its very difficult to say to say who is in the wrong if one keeps an open mind. As far as men who pay for sex are those who are not capable or shy. Tyhe only escape route for them is to pay for some sort of gratification. I guess it works both ways.

it is not wrong to pay for sex if both parties are adults. just think about this even if u are married u still pay for it, if u go out on a date u pay a lot of money and then most times don't get any, so to pay for services is a lot easier, and at least it is a sure thing, just use protection and enjoy the ride

Depends on prior arrangements ,,,, Who the individual is that you are contemplating having sex with ,,,, Some women are in the business of prostitution for the money not the sex ,,,, So what the two of you agree to before engaging it the act it's self is important ,,,, It is wrong if either party doesn't comply with what was agreed to before hand though ,,,,

It's fine. If you think about it, how many people have sex for free and it is for all the wrong reasons. Or how many women use marriage and sex to extort money out of men. I think the deal with a prostitute has to be the purest and most honest of all the transactions: everyone knows what it is about.

I don't believe it is within Western society. Sex is sold as a commodity and lifestyle in this soiciety and to say it is wrong to pay for a natural process is riduculous seeing as that we pay for hundreds of other natural processes.
In fact, paying for sex is seen as a postive family process. For example, if a husband feels he really needs to have sex with someone other than his with - to pay for meaningless sex with a prostitute is going to less harmful than getting into a meaningful relationship with someone else. The process is seen as a damage limitator to the the family.

Hey:
Ya , both persons are wrong!Sex should be free and without any sin, it should be between two persons who love eachother!
God didnot make sex so that we enjoy but so that we procreate! And if we are paying for it, then is it procreation? And if we do something against the book of God is it not wrong?
There is your answer!Goodluck

Can you guarantee that the woman involved hasn't been forced into prostitution? Do you think that she actually enjoys it or is doing it because there is no other way to earn money?
Do you think she is doing it for emotional needs? If this is a career choice then I have no real problem with it, other than the fact that I am uncomfortable that someone has so little self control they have to go and pay someone for sex.

i dont think its wrong, if you cant get it off of someone without paying i think its quite sad really that someone has to pay for sex. but everyone needs to have it now and then, so i dont see a problem with it, as long as you are both healthy too. (no std's on the horizon)
