Perhaps for the sake of protecting the pedophiles from the rest of the population, which seems rather silly to me considering that the other criminals are not segregated - people who don't pay their taxes vs axe murderers... (hmm, not much difference there, apparently?)
Otherwise they wouldn't have to, since juveniles are sent to another prison, there's no one underage to protect.

I don't know if they do or not, but I hope they are right there with the rest of the prison population. Why should they be given any "special" rights? They are the worst of the worst. Hopefully while they are there, another prisoner will get ahold of them and give them a sample of what they did to some innocent kid. All pedophiles are twisted and sick and there is no rehabillitation for them. That is their preference, children. Lock them away forever or execute them so they can never do the same to another little child. I get sick of hearing about the NON-sentences some of these perverts get, and then they are back out on the street to destroy more lives. We need to do a LOT more to make sure NONE of these creeps can ever hurt another child.

Yes, just about all of the pedophiles will be kept away from the other inmates. They're usually held in the sex offender section with others that have committed sex crimes.
I've always heard that the general population inmates would brutalize them for hurting kids, and that's exactly why they should be put in with them.

Yes,but not cuz they'd get raped.It's for their own protection,not that the guards care.If it was up to them,they'd let the other inmates kill torture them.But the Prison would most likely get sued by the sick bastards family,possibly losing some funding from the state which would cut back on the guards salaries and other programs.But the shouldn't even put them in prison,where they are segregated with their own sick twisted kind,exchanging their disgusting stories with each other.They should be fed to the wolves.(The general prison population)

Yes they do. Authorities know that it is very possible that pedophiles will be brutally raped and murdered while in prison with the general population of inmates.

if you have been a police officer for twenty years lets say, you break the law, get caught and go to prison. all the people you arrested over the period of those 20 years are there with you, what do you think they are going to do to you? the other prisoners are not fond of police. so, if a former cop is in jail....what happens, you think about it.then you have answered your own question.

I am with Chrissy, I believe that they should be put into general population so that they can get what they gave. Why do they have the desire to take something like that from someone, when there are plenty of nasty people out here who are willing to give it to anybody. SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK!
