These are free, so you wouldn't get paid. However, it's a good idea to practise and gain experience. Here in the UK, books for the blind are read by actors; I've already tried that!

You may just want to contact a theatrical agent. Normally, such work as reading books onto tape is done by actors and actresses. An old girlfriend of mine who was a struggling actress did exactly this sort of work.
