Some hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

we need specifics...like: is the HD shutting your pc down, does it have enough space to perform a defrag, is it old, is it new, what type and make, all that info would be nice for us to help.
