There are new studies that indicate that the time it takes for mature sperm to be created is anywhere from 42 to 70 days.
BUT this is happening EVERYDAY! So everyday there are new sperms maturing.
Do not be afraid of to have sex every day or every other day while fertile. And do not be afraid of having sex the days prior to your fertile days.
This is to say he has a normal sperm count. If he has low sperm count or has sperm problems then it is best to wait every other to every three days and calculating when you ovulate is the wisest things to do.
There are sperm count kits that you can buy that will show if he has a normal sperm count or not. I added a link below.

technically a healthy male produces enough sperm to impregnate a woman every half hour. So he doesn't need to save or at all under normal circumstances.
However, if he has a low sperm count or othe rproblem then maybe some medical opinion and treatment might be in order to restore his ability.

sperms are made every hour. unless a man have low sperm counts, if that is the case, than you and your partner should stay away from sex as much as 2 months, should not smoke, or drink alcohol. from my own experience i had the same problem 3 years ago, i bought a ginger root from the market, cut/smashed it into little pieces, boiled it for 30 minutes, filled a one litre botlle with the ginger water and when cool gave it to my husband to drink ,in replacement to the alcohol. after 2 months of drinking the ginger beer/water, we made love, after he climaxed i did not move away from the bed so as not to disturb the sperms falling out, i lay facing upwards for 6 minutes before i got up to attend to the loo. in two weeks i noticed the changes , meaning i was pregnant. we have a 6 year old boy now concieved in that way.

Techically, a male shouldn't "run out" of sperm. It should be normal that a male can ejaculate everyday and have a healthy batch in every ejaculation. Note that this doesn't work for those that have dysfunctional genitals or have not reached puberty.

In a man with normal sperm count, he can replenish his sperm daily.

your husband should avoid sex or masturbation for 2-4 days.try having sex every altenate days .
