I cannot download the pictures in the Internet in any other formats except Bitmap (.bmp), even if its original format is not bitmap. But if the picture is downloaded with a link, example like when we're searching for pictures in Yahoo!, it will appear in smaller picture and we can get the original size by clicking the small picture. If I download it by clicking 'Save Target As' on the link, I can get it with the original format.
My question is, is my computer being infected by a virus or something like that? Or it can be solved by only changing the settings? Because it's not used to be like that.

Heavenly, you do not have a virus. The same thing happened to me a while back and it drove me crazy. I finally found the answer through Microsoft's Knowledge base. I followed the directions to the letter going so far as to move the location of the temporary file folder as suggested in the article. And it worked. I have not had the problem since. Good luck and please come back here and let us know how you did. The link is: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810978

uninstall and reinstall or repair your internet browser.

goto "control panel" > add or remove programs > find microsoft internet explorer and click repair after clicking the change/remove button.

important: write down the proxy settings if any for the browser.

if not sure, ask your friends who knows about the proxy settings for internet browsers 1st.

ps: get ready a cd which has the setup file for microsoft internet explorer or whichever internet browser you are reinstalling.

cheers and good luck!

I've noticed that that is a Yahoo! Image search thing. I don't seem to find that problem anywhere else. You don't have a virus or anything and there's nothing wrong with your browser settings either.
