No. After hearing this many times, I began to do some congressional research concerning this mattter. My conclusion was the opposite... Israel is controlled byt the USA.
For example, Bush needed a middle eastern skirmish because his Iraqi war was losing support, so what happened? Suddenly Israel gets into a bash with Hezbollah.
That backfired but you get the point.

No! America is controlled by big business and big business alone.
If anything Israel is controlled by America.
If we would have told Israel to immediately call off their war they would have, but we didn't because it was in our best interest to see Hezbollah wiped out.
Which in turn would have sent a strong message to Tehran.

Israel: 6,000,000 people. GDP per capita far below ours. Military a fraction of our.
