No,as long as Israel has leaders like Sharon or Olmert I don't think it's possible...As long as they refuse to give back the land to Palestinians and recognize their right to existence it won't happen...Israel is not willing to have peace right now.Hamas has offered them a 10 years peace truce that Israel refused. The Palestinians are trying, but they have to have a partner for negotiations...

Because Palestinians and Israelis have NEVER lived in peace except in very specific and extraordinary circumstances. When Israel was formed back in 1947 the Jews asked the Palestinians to live with them and develop a common land that would be wonderful for both cultures. Education, prosperity, industry, common stores, parks, etc. The Palestinians answered this proposal with guns. It has been that way ever since. Every time Israel tries to negotiate peace the Palestinians pull out of the talks. It will never end until the last Muslim is eliminated for this part of the world. They want the world to obey their laws and they will not recognize anyone Else's laws or religion. The Muslims are now moving for world domination and if you think not then you are very naive.

Much as I sympathise with Israel, I have been a friend of Israel since before the 1967 war, I think this is not a resolvable issue as it stands. The fact is that Israel claims the Promised Land as their own based on the Old Testament. The Arabs claim it as theirs based on the Quran. I am an agnostic and do not accept received wisdom. I have a suggestion. All Israelis should undergo DNA testing to find out the percentage of their origin. If the maximum percentage of origin stems from, say, Europe, accept this. Second suggestion: India has always welcomed refugees. Let us welcome the entire population of Israel into India. They cannot add much to the numbers that we already have. But they can add enormously to our pool of talent.

Only when the Palestinians decide they want peace. Even when given everything they have asked for in previous summits, the Palestinians have walked out and continued to fight. Also, since the Palestinians are loathed by every other middle eastern nation, the other nations like to keep things stirred up in Palestine so they can keep on using them as canon fodder against Israel.

There are too many outside groups that benefit from the chaos. There are others that are simply too stubborn to cooperate.
