A few possibilities can help this out....Try turning off your speaker system(s), restart the computer with them off, then once @ main screen, turn them on again. Lastly, turn off computer for a while, then boot up.
I have this problem too at times. Usually means your speakers either had a glith in the circuits or the breaker in it took a spike. either way, its best to let it cool. Hope this helps :)

check the sound cable(s) to your computer and to the speakers if they are properly connected.
else, play another music on your computer.

Follow these steps to diagonose ur Sound;-
1)Check the power cable of Speakers.
2)Check the LINE OUT cable(it should be conected to ur speakers)
3)Check that sound in not MUTE(go to system tray to tweak settings)
4)chech that ur sound card is detected ot not.

sound system software must have got deleted install it then it will work.
