you swear you wont do it again, but you find yourself lying for them when they ask you to? for me its my bro, but usaully its just to protect my mother from being hurt.

A little white lie shouldn't matter.
Be sure while protecting your mother your brother isn't getting into any trouble. That way you'll be doing more harm. And mom knows to be told the truth after all you are both her children, by hiding stuff you are cheating her.
Parents are there to guide, help and stand by you. They are stronger than you'd make them out to be.

I lie for only 3 times to give room for change and chance after that, I just gotta stop it. My lying won't help anything but spoil that person. If I'm gonna protect someone I'm going all the way and whip this person up to shape myself. Ahh, the crackle of the whip.

If your getting feed up or feeling gulity about it then its time to put a stop to it. Your mother may get hurt but your getting hurt too. So tell him your not gonna do it anymore and then dont do it anymore. Then stay out of it when he has to deal with what ever it is hes keeping from you mother. Dont take resposiblity for him in this way anymore, because its not really helping anyone.

Yeah, I will usually 'lie' for my son. Just to keep peace in the house. Not actually an outright lie but an evasion of the 'whole' truth.

yes life is full of them whether you choose to entertain them or not , you also have to worry about the other person finding out , think of how dissapointed they will be if they ever found out
