You've been listening to Elton John whilst drunk, haven't you? Oh, dear. Love is complementary to the person you already are, not a price you pay in order to be happy.
If I 'gave up' my ideals, or possessions, or self-respect in order 'find' love, or to 'keep' love purely for the 'sake' of love, that love would be pretty cheap.
Sounds romantic, doesn't it? "Giving up everything" for love. Tragic. Life is not like Bold & the Beautiful. In the real world, you don't need to 'give up' anything for love. Love is within us all, not an external, outward 'discovery' you trade off for something else..
If love abides inside you, it is always with you, regardless of what you 'give up'.

Love IS everything. Ok, no, I would not. I would not give up my integrity, my mind, my autonomy, my potential, my beliefs, or my space. They can have my money, my car, etc.
