Mine did. Turns out I was going through andropause the male equivalent of menopause. I need to take testosterone to compensate. Other symptoms include a general disinterest in anything. It is often misdiagnosed as depression but can be tested for with a simple blood test.

I would say yes, now that I find myself dating men in their 40's. They definately have more problems in this department, but they make up for it in skill.

Yes, it can be a problem with testosterone. He should go to a urologist, who can examine him and do tests, etc. Lots of things can influence this, including depression.
