As a happily married man, I ask myself the same question. But it isn't only men that seem to take part in this deceitful act, some women do too. In my opinion your wedding ring should never leave your finger unless you take it to the jewelers or you need to remove it for safety reasons at work. Basically if it's not being cleaned or a safety issue it should be worn proudly. Quite simply not to wear ones wedding ring is very disrespectful to your spouse. It says you don't respect their feelings & that you don't care for them deeply enough to have a monogamous relationship. So if you want to play the field you shouldn't get married. But if you're married you should cherish the person you're with & only care about them & their feelings. Thank you for your time.

I think it's because most guys aren't used to wearing rings. Girls wear rings most of their lives, most guys don't. I am a woman and prefer not to wear a ring because it's uncomfortable. My husband also does not have a ring and neither did my ex.

I can't answer for most men,but when I was with my wife I was proud to wear my ring, and the job rules required I didn't, so I gave it to her to hold and she lost it some where outside during a drunk, never made an attempt to replace it or even offer a "sorry"

Lots of guys in the trades don't wear them because they can be a safety hazard. Even a priest friend of mine was playing soccer, and his wedding band got caught on something and he lost a finger!
My husband doesn't wear one now, because he lost two and I refuse to buy him another!

they could not wear their ring for a number of reasons... ie their job, or most men don't wear it for the simple fact of the matter being that if they don't have a mark from the ring its easier for them to get with someone besides their wife.

haha this remind me of last night. i was in a bar and a guy came up to me and said he was visiting this country and had to marry someone to stay here. i looked down and he had a wedding band on. he said the fact that he was already married should not stop him from getting married to stay in the country!

If they work around or machinery to prevent loss of the finger. I've known quite a few who forgot to take it off at work and lost that finger.

They should be proud to wear their rings if there's no safety issue. Get his polished and make him wear it each time he goes out.
