I've heard this expression all my life, it's one of those, know whut I mean deals, but when you think about it? It's just dumber than all get out! Where did that come from?

I know this one, cuz I'm from Texas. It's a southern terminology to begin with. Have you ever been in a crowd when something BIG happened and everyone scatters and clears out? Or have you seen how fast all the people try to get out of a building when someone yells, "FIRE!"? They ALL try getting out at the same time. So, the saying, basically means, "lickety split" (another Texas saying..haha lol!! ) meaning, fast as helll or fast as lightning!

It doesn't have any meaning or purpose at all, except, perhaps, to mark an individual as a member of a particular ethnic/cultural group.
