Princess Diana, wasa young girl who sprung from relative obscurity to become the most talked about and the most photographed woman in the world. Her youth, beauty and glamour brought a new and fresh meaning to the old sagging British monarchy. She was not the stuff of weighty tomes. She was everybody's sweetheart, a national pin-up of the nicest sort. A Lady, who everybody believed was an angel, proved she was one of us while her weaknesses proved to be her strengths.. her vulnerability and endearing nature. She went through a very rough period and she fought back for her freedom from the monarchy and the tile "Her Royal Highness" but continues to be "Princess of People's hearts". She was welcomed by a world grown sick of rebels and now delighted to discover the qualities of moderation and common sense. She was young, pretty and so eminently balanced. She was earthly and involved herself cheerfully in Social Service. She could talk about real problems like bulimia. And then, just as we were getting to know her better, she was gone, at 36.
