I know that's a pet's name, but does it have any other meaning?
The expression is: "chick-a-pee, chick-a-pee!"

oooh...I love that movie. In fact, I own a copy. Let's see....I know she's talking about her sister. I think it was part of a rhyme they use to do together. Wasn't it about a tree swaying in the wind or a bird in the tree.

I know Mae and Tae were their names.
Swo' in da belly was sword in the belly a biblical reference to rape.
eba dooah was evil doers or men (that made me laugh)
Guy an' was guardian angel or jay

but I think chick a pee was part of their rhyme.

wish i knew, DAMN good question!Maybe the sound that the chick-a-pee bird makes as it chirps, she is mimicking it?
That scene is so funny, I always repeat that line out loud whenever I get confused, no one gets my humor, sigh.
