Vald isn't a loose agent. He has an decision, even nevertheless that's going to fairly be picked up by way of the Angels. CC, Sheets, Burnett and Perez are the 'huge' loose agent pitchers. Tex, Manny, Abreu, Burrel, Dunn and Furcal are some huge bats that are on the open industry.

There appears to be two players the Tigers are going to go after.. whether they succede or not, time will only tell..
First.. The Tigers will be aggresive in going after Alfonso Soriano.. if they get him.. that will allow the Tigers to make another deal they are looking at trying to make via a trade.. and they are very interested in Miguel Tejada.. They have the pitching depth, especially from the left side (four lefty starters, Rogers, Maroth, Robertson and Miller) The Tigers have seven major league level starters, and at least three very good prospects in the minors.. so they have what alot of teams want.. If Tejada waives his no trade, which he might given Detroit's 2006 campaign, then he would play short and Carlos Guillen (not to be confused with Jose Guillen) would move to first, leaving Sean Casey out..
If the Tigers don't get Soriano, and Dombrowski has expressed the Tigers will go after a big bat, either thru free agency or trade, then they may look at a teir two free agent to play first.. either resign Casey.. maybe go after Nomar to play 1st/DH.. and Aubrey Huff would be on their radar..
The Tigers will also look at middle relief.. Jamie Walker has filed for free agency, the Tigers want him back, he wants to come back.. but he also has deserved to get as big a payday as he can, and lefty specialists do command some bucks.. if he bolts to another team.. they'll pursue a veteran middle reliever, like a lefty..
All of these scenarios will play out depending on what Soriano does and when.. look for the Tigers to jump in and try to get it done as quickly as possible.. if it drags, they will back out and manuever in another direction, likely through trades..

This year is really sad because there aren't any real superstars that are filing for free agency. Anyway, it's difficult to pan out who will go where, but I'll take a crack at it.
Moises Alou - will go to a team desparate for outfielder. Maybe Cardinals or back to the Cubs.
Jeremy Burnitz - stays put. No one wants him.
Trot Nixon - Role player for a team that needs left handed bats.
Jose Guillen - Tigers resign him.
Gary Sheffield - stays in new york, will DH and play first base, oh yes, will swallow pride and get dealt at the deadline when the Yankees are desparate for pitching or add a huge, useless expensive bat.
Jim Edmonds - stays in st.louis
Kenny Lofton - will stay in LA.
Gary Matthews Jr. - stays in texas
Juan Pierre - will go to a team that needs outfielders. How about Boston?
Dave Roberts - won't get much attention. Maybe a team that's weak on the infield.
Barry Bonds - if he doesn't retire, he'll either stay in San Fran for less money, or go to a team in the American League and DH as a side show while he gets his record. Maybe a team like Seattle, Cleveland, the White Sox or Detroit will give him a shot.
Cliff Floyd - will stay in NY
Gonzo - will probably retire, or become a mascot for some cheesy team. May stay.
Carlos Lee - Brewers will do everything they can to keep him. Other than that, he'll be a DH in the AL.
Alfonso Soriano - Gets big money from a team that doesn't know any better. Anaheim might be a good fit for him.
Aramis Ramirez - stays in Chicago
Pedro Feliz - stays in SF
Aubrey Huff - will go back to the AL. Look at Minnesota, Oakland or maybe Toronto.
Shea Hillenbrand - good value. Stays in the NL, maybe SF, or the Mets, Cards or maybe the Padres.
Kaz Matsui - limited value, goes back to Japan
Craig Counsell - won't get much attention. Either he becomes a limited role player for some club like Arizona, Texas or Anaheim, or just stays put.
Julio Lugo - will get a lot of attention. Clubs like Baltimore, Toronto and and Cincy need shortstops. Toronto was very interested, though.
Rich Aurilia - his best years are behind him. Will either resign or go to a team that has a young shortstop, 3rd base, 2nd base and need insurance.
Luis Castillo - very good defensively. May get looks from the Yankees, Boston and Cards.
Mark Loretta - stays put
Adam Kennedy - will go to a team that doesn't need a big bat but has a need for defense. Yankees, Mets, Dodgers and Giants.
Ronnie Belliard - stays put
Craig Biggio - will retire
Sean Casey - either stays or becomes a DH somewhere like Seattle
Nomar - stays in LA, won't get much money though.
Craig Wilson - Yankees wil try to keep him. Looks like he'll go to a contender like Oakland, Minnesota, or the Dodgers.
Kevin Millar - I see him on a ballclub that a little limited on cash. Maybe Marlins, Phillies or Astros.
Phil Nevin - stilla good bat. Stays put.
Greg zaun - Will resign with Toronto. The Jays won't keep Bengie Molina.
Mike Piazza - Will DH in the American League, or will become a part-time catcher for a team with a hot young prospect that they want to break in this season. Maybe Baltimore will give him a shot.
Javy Lopez - Either moves to DH for the Orioles or will become a part-time catcher similar to what Piazza will do.
As for Pitchers,
Kerry Wood is good for a 4th starter. Will go to a team that has depth, maybe Toronto will be a good for him, or he will be plan "Z" for the Yankees.
Barry Zito will go to a contender that will pay him what he wants. I don't see him in New York, though. The A's will try to keep him. I see the Braves, Astros or Reds.
Jason Schmidt will most likely stay in SF. BUt the Yankees will call, so will Toronto, but with as much money as they have tied up in pitching, look for the Cubs, Cards, Red Sox and Orioles to call.
Mark Redman will go to a club that needs depth. Cubs, Jays, Cards, Angels and Texas will inquire surely. Royals may try to keep him, but he might not be so keen on staying in KC.

I don't know anything about most of them since the only team I follow is Detroit (yes, I was a fan even when they were 119-45!) Sean Casey has stated that he wants to stay and Dombrowski & Leland have stated that they want to keep him. All that's left to work out is the money. Since Mike Illich took over, money doesn't seem to be an issue. There shouldn't be too much of a problem arriving at a number.

If I had to take some guess, then here's my prediction to where there going to sign (Top 10 FA in no particular order):
Alfonso Soriano - Chicago Cubs: The Nationals has no leeway to resign Soriano, especially if he's looking for a $100 million dollar contract similar to Beltran (Soriano is the 1st to hit 40 HR, 40 SB, 40 Doubles in a single season). Chicago is in dire need of an impact right now and their willing to inflate the payroll to do that. They might have to sacrifice losing Ramirez and Pierre to FA but it would be a major upgrade in the offense that needs to win now, especially with the LF situation mirky.
Carlos Lee - San Francisco: Texas has several FA on the market, including Gary Matthews Jr.. With pitching as their goal in the offseason, they might not have enough money to save up for Lee. San Francisco has no intention of resigning Bonds and even if they did, he's not going to be the face of the franchise. The NL West is one of the strongest division and the Giants nee to be competitive. With the arrival of Bruce Bochy, the Giants need to win now and getting Lee would be the first step.
Barry Zito- Boston: We all know that as long as Billy Beane is running Moneyball in Oakland, there's no chance of Zito coming back, especially if he's asking for a 5 year deal. Expect the Yankees and Red Sox to make a run for the former Cy Young winner, but I would guess the Red Sox to win this sweepstakes. Even though he grew up in So Cal (play HS in California, collegiate ball at USC, still plays in the band with his sister), he stated that family would not be involved in his decision. With Boston more motivated this offseason with missing the playoffs and in dire need of a left-hander in the rotation, there willing to one up the Yanks, especially after losing Damon to NY last season.
Aramis Ramirez - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: Fans will always be fans, but money speaks louder in this business. The Cubs were dumbfounded when Ramirez use his player option to become a FA, despite the fact that he getting paid $10 million on his current contract. You can't blame Ramirez to opt out, considering that he had a career year and maybe looking for more (mayber $11-$13 million range) and possibly a longer deal. Look for Arte Moreno to use his latin influence to persuade Ramirez to play for the Angels, especially with Vladimir and Cabrera vouching.
Jason Schmidt - San Francisco: Although he is the most talk about avalible FA pitcher, I think he'll stay. The market is not good for him, considering his age (34), but his skills are hard to beat. The Giants needs their ace more than Schmidt needs them and they have to be competitve, especially with a questionable rotation.
Nomar Garciaparra - Chicago Cubs: Garciaparra had his best season in years, but the Dodgers already had James Loney ready to take over at 1B and with the infield already loaded, there's no room for Garciaparra to play. Chicago would welcome him back with open arms, especially if Ramirez leaves. If he wants to stay at 1B, the Angels would likely pursue him.
Juan Pierre - San Diego: Dave Roberts is sure not coming back and the Padres just lost their longtime manager. Someone like Pierre needs to spark this dismal SD offense and Pierre could be the answer. Although not coming cheap, he would be a perfect fit and force Mike Cameron to move to RF. He plays great defense on CF and has speed (back-to-back 50+ SB season).
Tom Glavine - New York Mets: With Pedro gone until midsummer, the Mets need an ace to anchor and Glavine could stay for 2 more years with the weakness in pitching show up in the NLCS, which cost them a trip to the WS.
Frank Thomas - Detroit: Again with Moneyball, Thomas is going somewhere else. Detroit has the money and needs a spark after their dismal performance at the WS and Thomas could be the player that can add dimension to the offense.
Daisuke Matsuzaka - Seattle: He's only 26, posted 17-5 record, 2.13 ERA, and 200 K's in Japan last season, lead Japan to the title at WBC (World Baseball Classics) last march. The Seibu Lions are asking for a $30 million negotiation rights, as well as a $13-$15 million range, considering not pitching one inning of MLB baseball. The Yankees are the heavy favorite but the stress in pitching in a big city could lead Matsuzaka to go to the Emerald City, where Ichiro plays. The bad news is that any team that want this phenom will have to overpay, as long as Scott Boras is representing him.
The rest of the crop:
Barry Bonds - retired or AL team
Aubrey Huff - Philadelphia
Moises Alou - Atlanta
Jim Edmonds - Dodgers
Cliff Floyd - Yankees
Luis Gonzalez - Texas
Mike Mussina - Yankees
Julio Lugo- Mets
Pedro Feliz - San Francisco
Eric Gagne - Cubs
Greg Maddux - Dodgers
Adam Kennedy - St. Louis
Mark Loretta - Boston
Todd Walker - Cubs
Javy Lopez - Seattle
Mike Piazza - Angels
Eddie Guardado - Mets
Roger Clemens - retired
Andy Pettitte - Texas
Jeff Suppan - St. Louis
Jeff Weaver - St. Louis
Mark Mulder - Houston
David Wells - San Diego
Jason Marquis - Colorado
Gary Matthews Jr. - Texas
This is all I can think about right now, so here's my prediction.
