I know jobs that start out twice that much with an associates degree, but is the person putting the degree to use or not?

I make $24,000 year if i work 40 hours a week and no more--which is unusual. I have no schooling after highschool and have only been there for a little over a year and a half. I'm a welder though so my job is hot and dirty which needs to be taken into consideration when deciding how much what you do is worth. I make more now then some of my friends that went to school for 4 years EVER will. (By the way minimum wage is somewhere around $12-13,000)

Depends on your job.
The average income for a college graduate is about $40,000. Note that it's the average; lots of graduates are earning a lot less.

It depends on what kind of degree you have and what kind of job you are doing. If you have an associates that's about right if you are just getting started at your job, but not if you have a bachelor's and up.
