baby? when do you cut back the milk and replace it with solid food.
i give my baby 20 - 24 ounze milk plus 3 times a day solid food

so how many ounze in total is correct for 9 month old. can you tell me, how much and what you feed your baby. sometimes i feel like i give him to much, but he is not fat or big or chubby, he is tall for his age. and wants to eat a lot.
e.g.

6 o clock am 4 ounze milk
8 o clock am cereal plus 1 banana
10 o clock am 4 ounze milk
2 hours later 1 zwieback or breadcrust (whenever he is fuzzy or wants something)
1 o clock another 4 ounze milk
2 o clock 2 whole zuchini or 4 ounze peas or sweet potatoes or anything
5 o clock another cereal plus 4 ounze veggis
6 o clock 4 ounze milk
10 o clock pm 4 ounze milk.

does this look like a lot to you

thanks

I don't think it looks like a lot at all. If your baby is that hungry he should be drinking 32 oz. of formula or breast milk but no more then that. At this point the formula or breastmilk should be the largest part of his diet. When you do switch over to milk at 1 year old or contine with breastmilk .. then they get only 20-24 oz.

At 9 months old i gave both of my boys:
8 AM 8 oz. formula, bowl of oatmeal cereal with 4 oz. fruit
12;30 8 oz. formula, bowl of rice cereal with 4 oz. meat and some kind of vegetable.
5 PM 8 oz. formula, bowl or rice cereal with 4 oz. vegetable
8 PM 8 oz. formula

Hope this helps.

It is not necessary for you to keep such a detailed feeding schedule unless directed to by your doctor. When my children where learning to eat solid food they had formula as a drink rather than a meal so they really ate at their maeltimes and I used the formula more as a filler for inbetween. All babies are different and do different things at different times so there really is no correct answer. All you really need to do is make sure that baby is eating healthy and learning a good eating pattern. Try to trade some of the milk time for water or a light snack. Also you could just let baby eat till he/ she is very full and then offer milk or juice for after a meal instead of part of it. Babies need lots of energy and nutrients so if baby eats all day its ok as long as its healthy foods.

It looks to me like you're doing a great job. Your baby is getting all the food groups and a very healthy diet. If your baby is happy - keep it going. I did pretty much the same thing with my kids. If you try any fruit juice - make sure you dilute it with water to half and half and use a sippie cup for healthy teeth. Also be sure to wait until 12 months to eat eggs and 24 months for nuts - since these are high allergy foods. Keep up the great work.

Do you have the big **** with the milk? You should feed the baby as much as you can because the baby can get his immunities and plus if you do it in public we can get a good show, the grownups that is. I bet you're doing a good job as a mother. I think you should get pregnant again because pregnant makes you a milky mama and it's very sexy too, and delicious.
