My son just turned 18 and he's 6'6''!!! He doesn't have a problem with his height. It's a matter of building self esteem over time. Don't males stop growing at 19? Your son would be looking up at mine right now. Does he have an interest in sports or skateboarding? I pointed out advantages of being tall to my son when he shot up to 6 feet at 15. All of a sudden one day I was looking at the emblem on his shirt at chest level and I had to look up to see his face! We laugh about that to this day.

I think tall guys are so attractive...not only to me, but other females as well. So, you could start with that fact--the ladies like the tall guys because it makes them feel safer. Taller=More Masculine! You could also mention that most US presidents have been over 6'0 as well as male models and athletes. Being tall is seen as desirable in countries (such as Japan). He shouldn't feel like a freak because of his height. I think people are impressed by it. He needs to start accepting who he is and embrace it. Good luck!

Where in the world do you live that 6'2" is considered tall? China? Japan? Or is he 7 years old, in which case, see a dr. But a 6'2" 15 year old is the king of the hill!

The opportunities are endless! "A lotta people are afraid of heights, not me, I'm afraid of widths!" ..Stephen Wright
You won't convince him until his maturity catches up with his discomfort. Teach him a few quick come-backs for the unwary, humour him, or..... find a trait in the boy that really does need a little work, (hammer him for it!) and take his mind off his height.

My former bf is 6'3". I like tall guys, because I'm tallish (5'9"). BTW, seems you live in a neighborhood where people are pretty short - and narrow-minded.
