Just because someone is gay. That is not their fault. They can not change that. Why should they have to suffer, and not be premitted to marry their lover, just because Republican politicians have interpeted the Bibile, a book written 4 thousand years ago with no relevence in this matter today, as saying it is wrong?

I sometimes feel like they should but then I rationalize and realize that even if they are gay if they are great people we can not judge them. It is worse to be gay or a killer ( not that I judge them in the same level), I am sure any logical person will state the obvious and say a killer. I think that being gay is minor to that compared to someone that took a human life. Their is so much evil in the world and homosexuality should not even be considered a issue. But I do have prob with those ppl that make it a trend. As for gay marriage, I do not believe in it but I do believe they should have some legal documentation the legalizes them as a couple but not marriage.

I am gay and while I agree with your basic premise I disagree that all Christians or all Republicans are out to punish gay people. Be careful of assuming that all members of a certain segment of the population share the same view on any particular subject. Diversity means that you can hold any view regardless of background. Look beyond the labels. Every individual is capable of thinking for themselves.

They are not being punished, The law is very clear. If it needs to be changed, then gay's should work to do just that. It is not a religious issue. Many things are deemed wrong by religion and we do them anyway. How is this different? And by the way, it is not only republicans in opposition to gay marital benefits.

You only got 2 things wrong, #1, I'm a Republican and fully SUPPORT Gay rights. #2. The Bible was written little more than 2 thousand years ago, not 4. Otherwise I completely agree. We are who we are, from birth, and should NOT be punished for it, no one, period!

There are pros and cons about gay. Sometimes, It IS their fault on being gay but anyways there's nothing wrong being homosexual it's just that the people's view on them, i mean when someone said that someone is gay, they;ll think the he is a guy raper, its just how they act(bad ones) that affected people's perspective to be a gay hater and peer pressure. Vice versa.
The thing that I disagree about Bible has no relevance in this matter today. It actually does.
read my source. and republicans misinterpeted it.

1) No one should be punished for simply being homosexual.

2) Interpretation of the Bible is far more complex than many ultra-conservative groups would like to see or admit. Literal interpretation is one of many ways; it is also a method frought with countless pitfalls. Simple claims that the Bible condemns homosexuality is an opinion held by people who have not taken the time to apply critical thinking techniques to ancient text.

I look at it like this....If Micheal Jackson can get married,,,Anyone should be able to get married!
It is real when they say allowing gays to be married threatens the institution of marriage and the republicans know it...How does it minimize or taint my marriage just because 2 people that are both guys get married...Just like two people getting a divorce that are heterosexual has no effect on my marriage....They act like they know about morality when in fact...We see just how corrupt and immoral this current administration is...I think the more importnat question is..... To protect our children, Should republicans have to notify communities before moving there?,,,,,Now that is a relevant question

Well, the Bible does in fact still have relevance to today. The problem is that people interpret it in ways which are detrimental to the common good. The Bible does speak against homosexuality, but only against homosexual rape. It makes no mention of a loving, caring relationship between two people of the same sex.

So the Republicans can have a made up serious issue that truly means nothing to hide the mess in Iraq they created.

Gay people should NOT be punished.Civil Marriage is a legal union that should be granted to all legal adults no matter their orientation. If a church disagrees with it fine. Then don't allow Gay's to marry in your church. But the church needs to keep out of the government business.
