If the ball crosses the line, the entire ball, then it is a goal, no matter how it got there. This is unlike "American" football where the ball just needs to break the plane of the goal line.

I didn't play soccer for TOO long- from first grade to 7th... and now I coach first grade boys
but in our little kid league even if the ball is in the goalies hands, if it crosses the line, it's a goal.
My guess would be it's a universal rule, but maybe thats for boys?

It is a goal for both cases. As long as the ball crosses the line in whichever form without a foul being committed, it counts as a goal.

If the whole of the ball goes over the line, whether it be in the keeper's hands or not, it's a goal.

The WHOLE of the ball has to be over the line. Doesn't matter how it goes in, if the keeper falls in with it, then it's a goal!

The key is whether the ball crosses the line or break the plane.
If so, a goal.
If not, no goal.
