After quite a bit of research, i've found a company that does sell Dell Dimension compatible power supplies, but only up to model 9100. I'm curious if anybody has upgraded their 375watt PSU, to something heftier...and if so from where ;-)

Or did you use a standard ATX PSU, like all the ones i've seen out there from companies like Antec and so forth...

Thanks!

Dell Dimension 9200 use the same PS as of Dell Dimension 9100 which is the DELL K8956 375W PS.
PC Power & Cooling sells an upgrade PS for Dell, and call it "Silencer 470 Dell", which rate at 470W @ 40C (520W peak). It costs around $150, which is about $50 higher than their regular "Silencer 470 ATX", quoted at $99 with the same exact rating. Little high, yes, but it's the cost to buy a Dell.

Dell as a rule is a poor pc when it comes to upgrades. This is where they make their big bucks. They arent very parts interchangeable friendly as you probably already know. About the only thing you can do is remove your power supply and physically measure it. If you can find a power supply with the proper connecter and a higher wattage, go for it but you will be doin some searching!

You can replace it with a standard power supply. As far as Dell compatible power supplies, Dell started using the standard power connections again in 2000, so their is not a connection issue. You might have to remove a smal piece of metal, this varies on different models, but that is it, you will be able to use a standard power supply, no need to spend extra on these "special Dell" power supplies people sell.
