There are several reasons.

For starters, the ads and air time are already paid for. She may as well get her money's worth; fruitless as it may be!

Secondly, she needs to appear courageous to her republican cronies. i.e. portray the image that 'She's a fighter'! She would certainly lose face if she were to capitulate. She would lose all respect within the party. Basically, it would be political suicide.

Thirdly, it is imperative for her to defend the record of the Romney/Healey administration. The fact that Mitwit is considering a run for President demands a strong defense of his policies; tough as that may be! If she were to abandon and distance herself from the carpet-bagging governor, it would cause irreparable damage to his future, albeit delusional, hopes of becoming President.

Finally, Kerry Healey has failed to realize that the republican strategy that relied so heavily on 'fear', is no longer effective. Her negative ads may have been successful a few years ago. Now they have backfired. The fact that she is so out of touch with the current political landscape merely reinforces the fact that she is unqualified to be Governor.

She has nothing to lose by running her ads. What she fails to realize is that Deval Patrick has everything to gain!

They get x amount of funds during their campaign... as long as they keep fighting, those funds keep coming. It is that simple.

Think... if you were getting x amount of dollars to spend on a losing fight, what would you do? Would you pay a few friends to do a few jobs here and there in hopes that your next political fight might be easier?

Healy don't see the writing on the wall.

He's a goner, but he's gonna blow the donation money until the end!
